What are the effects of Purple Urkle cannabis?

  • Relaxed
  • Sleepy
  • Happy
  • Euphoric

When properly nurtured, Purple Urkle feminized marijuana seeds grow into amazing cannabis plants that contain equal parts indica and sativa, with a THC content that has an average potency of 20%.

This beautifully-balanced hybrid, which first appeared on the scene in the 1980s, is descended from the popular cannabis strain Mendocino Purps, aka "Mendo Purps," which hails from the legendary Emerald Triangle in Mendocino County in Nor Cal.

As a 50/50 hybrid, Purple Urkle, which, fortunately, is not obnoxious as its namesake of Steve Urkel, offers both medical and recreational users the best of both worlds, although it does definitely lead indica in its effects, which means that unlike the balanced hybrid strains out there that lean sativa in the effects, this one is probably better for use at the end of the day or on a lazy day off.

Purple Urkle is the kind of blissful strain that will leave you feeling euphorically happy and soothingly relaxed almost simultaneously.

It makes for a fabulous way to unwind after a long and stress-filled day and to gently yet quickly rid your mind of worries and replace them with cheer-filled and positive thoughts and feelings.

If it weren't for Purple Urkle's potent joy-filled and upbeat cerebral effects, its eventual body-numbing and couch-locking effects would make you think you've smoked an indica-dominant hybrid instead of a 50/50.

However, before Purple Urkle's sedative effects send you off to sleep, it will first have you wanting to eat everything in sight. As such, you'll want to make sure you have a fridge and pantry full of tasty treats and snacks for when the munchies hit.

What are Purple Urkle's fragrance and flavor profiles?

Purple Urkle offers users a distinctive blend of sweet and earthy grapes and tropical aromas with skunk accents.

Taste-wise, this particular marijuana strain is able to boast a unique blend of flavors that many users say reminds them of drinking an ice-cold grape soda. In addition to its sweet grape flavor, Purple Urkle also has undertones of fruit and berries and hints of skunk that complement its otherwise very sweet flavor.

How do I grow Purple Urkle cannabis seeds?

While Purple Urkle isn't the hardest strain out there to grow, it's probably not the best option for beginner growers as it does require a bit of experience in order to successfully cultivate it. As such, it's best grown by intermediate to experienced cultivators. One big plus is that since Pacific Seed Bank only sells feminized cannabis seeds available, it means that your chances of having all-female plants are in the 90+% range or thereabouts. You'll also be glad to know that it's relatively resistant to common molds and pests.

While Purple Urkle can be grown both inside and out in Mother Nature, outdoor growers may want to consider being indoor cultivators for this one as its indoor harvest are larger than its outdoor yields. No matter where you grow it, you'll want to keep an eye on the nutrient levels in your soil as this beautiful plant is quite the hungry grower.

What do Purple Urkle cannabis plants look like?

When fully mature, Purple Urkle produces rather short, bushy, and compact plants, a common indica trait. Structurally, its roundish and conical nuggets also embody their indica genetic makeup in that they are quite tightly packed together.

In terms of coloration, Purple Urkle buds are purple with hues of forest green which are strikingly juxtaposed against an interweaving of lone orange pistils and a shimmering blanket of trichomes.

When to harvest your Purple Urkle cannabis plants

Not only does Purple Urkle require some previous cultivation experience in order to successfully grow, it also has a relatively longer growth time when grown outside. That said, all of your care and patience will be worth the effort once you reap its bounty.

Grown indoors, this 50/50 hybrid produces an amazing yield of about 510 grams per square meter after entering its flowering phase in approximately 8-9 weeks.

When cultivated in the great outdoors, Purple Urkle should begin to flower sometime around the middle of October and tends to provide a smaller outdoor harvest of somewhere around 250 grams per plant.
