Growing Tips for Gigabud

Gigabud is easy to cultivate even if you have limited experience growing your own cannabis plants. Gigabud marijuana plants will thrive indoors and outdoors, but have an easier time growing indoors because of the ability to completely control the climate. If you choose to grow indoors, you will need to replicate a steady environment similar to a warm Mediterranean climate. Gigabud cannabis seeds grow into plants with long buds that appear faded, bright green, and white because of the frosty crystal resin trichomes littering the bud sites.

If you choose to grow outdoors, you will need consistent temperature and humidity to bring these plants to completion. Doing so will ensure that you grow healthy buds from the top of the plants to the buds closest to the soil. Having access to a greenhouse is the best way to give these plants the ideal outdoor climate without having to contend with unexpected weather variables — particularly important across many Canadian growing regions. These plants grow to a medium height and can reach around 90–150 centimetres tall. Because the plants reach a maximum indoor and outdoor height of less than 150 centimetres, each plant will grow well in a number of different setups.

The ideal temperature for these plants is around 20–28 degrees Celsius and slightly cooler at night. Humidity levels should be kept around 30–70% during the vegetative growth stage and the flowering stage, but gradually lowering the humidity each week will help this plant thrive. Growing indoors will ensure that moderate to high humidity levels and moderate temperatures are consistent and maintained every day that the plants are in the growing stages.

Topping, High-stress training (HST), Screen of Green (ScrOG), and Low-stress training (LST) methods are the best training techniques for this particular strain of cannabis. If performed correctly and at the right time, these techniques will promote bud production and increase final yields. LST and HST manipulate the plants by tying down the branches to increase the size and density of the buds while allowing them to grow almost naturally. Topping is used to control the height of the plant and buds. The Screen of Green method will help support the heavier bud sites so they don't bend or break the branches. The Gigabud strain requires an 18–20 hour light cycle to reach the vegetative growth stage. Changing the light cycle to a 12/12 cycle will help to induce the flowering stage of growth and get your plants to harvest.

Yields, Flowering Time, and Harvest

  • Flowering Time: Growing indoors, you can expect the Gigabud strain to harvest after a short flowering period of 50–60 days.
  • Yields: Indoor yields are around 350 grams per square metre, while outdoor grows typically produce up to 400 grams per plant. These yields are excellent and the plants are well suited to a variety of setups, thanks to the minimal odour each plant produces.
  • Harvest: Outdoor growers across Canada can plan on harvesting their yields around the beginning of October, depending on when the seeds were planted.

Gigabud: Spicy & Herbal

The Gigabud cannabis strain terpene profile is directly responsible for how the plant smells and tastes, and the strong effects it has on its users. The most dominant terpene in this strain is caryophyllene, while myrcene and pinene are the secondary terpenes.

  • Caryophyllene: Most Dominant - This is known as the spicy or peppery terpene and can be found in cloves, black pepper, and cannabis plants.
  • Myrcene: Secondary Terpene - Myrcene is earthy and found almost exclusively in cannabis plants.
  • Pinene: Pine Needles - Pinene can be found in conifer trees, pine needles, and cannabis plants and is known for its fresh, pine-like fragrance.
