Growing Tips for Cannalope Haze
Cannalope Haze can be a tricky strain to grow and is best harvested by growers with an intermediate level of experience in cannabis cultivation. Cannalope Haze plants will thrive both indoors and outdoors, but have an easier time growing indoors because of the grower's ability to manage the climate. If you choose to grow indoors, you will have to replicate a steady environment similar to the climate of the Mediterranean. Cannalope Haze seeds produce plants that are bright green and have short leaves with white pistils. The buds of these plants are covered in resinous trichomes that appear white. If you are going to grow outdoors, you will need to maintain a consistent temperature and humidity to grow these plants to harvest. Doing so will ensure that you grow potent and pungent buds from the top of the plants to the bottom. Having access to a greenhouse is the best way to give these plants the perfect outdoor climate they require without having to contend with unexpected outdoor variables. These plants grow short and bushy and can reach around 60–90 centimetres in height. Because the plants reach a maximum height of approximately 90 centimetres, they will fit in smaller grow areas, making it easy to grow multiple plants. The ideal temperature for these plants is around 21–27 degrees Celsius and slightly cooler at night. Humidity levels should be kept around 30–60% during the vegetative growth stage and the flowering stage. Growing indoors will ensure that the moderate humidity levels and higher temperatures are constant and maintained every day that the plants are in the growing stages. High-stress training (HST), Screen of Green (ScrOG), Sea of Green (SOG), and Low-stress training (LST) are the best training methods for this specific strain. While these methods benefit the plants in different ways, they all ultimately will lead to increased harvests. The Cannalope Haze strain requires an 18–20 hour light cycle to reach the vegetative stage of growth. Changing the light cycle to a 12/12 cycle will help to induce the flowering stage of growth and get you to harvest.
Yields, Flowering Time, and Harvest
- Flowering Time: Growing indoors, you can expect the Cannalope Haze strain to harvest after a short flowering period of 55–65 days.
- Yields: Indoor yields are around 550 grams per square metre, while outdoor grows typically produce up to 600 grams per plant. These yields are massive and are packed with potent and pungent buds.
- Harvest: Outdoor growers can plan on harvesting their yields around the middle of October, depending on when the seeds were planted.
Cannalope Haze: Hazy Tropical Vibes
The Cannalope Haze terpene profile is directly responsible for how the plant smells and tastes, and the strong effects it has on its users. The most dominant terpene in this strain is caryophyllene, while myrcene and humulene are the secondary terpenes.
- Caryophyllene: Most Dominant - Known as the spicy and peppery terpene, you can find caryophyllene in cinnamon and cannabis.
- Myrcene: Secondary Terpene - Commonly found in lilacs, sage, rosemary, apples, and cannabis, this terpene is known for having a woody and floral aroma.
- Humulene: Hoppy Beer - Humulene is present in cannabis plants and beer with higher hop contents.
