Growing Tips for Cadillac Purple
The Cadillac Purple strain was meticulously created to be a challenging strain to grow and should only be taken on by cultivators who have extensive experience growing their own cannabis. Cadillac Purple marijuana plants will thrive both indoors and outdoors, but have an easier time growing indoors because of the grower's ability to manage the climate. If you choose to grow indoors, you will have to replicate a steady environment similar to the climate of the Mediterranean. Cadillac Purple seeds produce plants that are dark green and vibrant purple with resinous trichomes covering the exterior of the bud sites. If you are going to grow outdoors, you will need to maintain a consistent temperature and humidity to grow these plants to harvest. Doing so will ensure that you grow potent and pungent buds from the top of the plants to the bottom. Having access to a greenhouse is the best way to give these plants the perfect outdoor climate they require without having to contend with unexpected outdoor variables. These plants grow short and can reach around 45–90 centimetres in height. Because the plants reach a maximum height of 90 centimetres, they can be grown in smaller grow areas like closets and balconies. The ideal temperature for these plants is around 18–24 degrees Celsius and slightly cooler at night. Humidity levels should be kept at 40–70% during the vegetative growth stage and the flowering stage. Growing indoors will ensure that moderate humidity levels and higher temperatures are constant and maintained every day that the plants are in the growing stages. Low-stress training (LST) and high-stress training (HST) methods are the best techniques for this strain. Each of these methods promotes plant growth and bud development and will increase yields if performed correctly and at the right time. The Cadillac Purple strain requires an 18–20 hour light cycle to reach the vegetative stage of growth. Changing the light cycle to a 12/12 cycle will induce the flowering stage of growth and carry your plants all the way to harvest.
Yields, Flowering Time, and Harvest
- Flowering Time: Growing indoors, you can expect the Cadillac Purple strain to harvest after a short flowering period of 55–65 days.
- Yields: Indoor yields are around 400 grams per square metre, while outdoor grows typically produce up to 500 grams per plant. Because of the short stature of these plants, you can grow multiple plants in a smaller area and increase your yields exponentially.
- Harvest: Outdoor growers can plan on harvesting their yields around the middle of October, depending on when the seeds were planted.
Cadillac Purple: Perfect Purple Buds
The Cadillac Purple terpene profile is directly responsible for how the plant smells and tastes, and the strong effects it has on its users. The most dominant terpene in this strain is myrcene, while bisabolol and pinene are the secondary terpenes.
- Myrcene: Most Dominant - Known as the "Mother of all terpenes", myrcene gives cannabis its earthy and aromatic profile.
- Bisabolol: Secondary Terpene - Found almost exclusively in cannabis plants, bisabolol adds a sweet and floral aroma.
- Pinene: Pine Needles- Pinene is commonly found in pine needles and conifer trees as well as cannabis cultivars.
