Big Bang Seeds
Big Bang is an indica-dominant hybrid with a sweet citrus-herbal flavour and a smooth, balanced high. It's great for full-body relaxation, creativity, and winding down at night.
Growing Tips for Big Bang
Big Bang plants require a lot of patience and attention to grow in abundance. Intermediate and master-level growers should have no issue bringing this strain to harvest. If you haven't grown cannabis before, then this strain will be more difficult to grow. The strain grows well indoors and outdoors, but is easier to grow indoors because you can dial in the correct climate without worrying about changes in heat and humidity. Indoor grows require nutrient-rich soil and high-quality lighting to produce the rich resin-coated buds the plant is known for. If you are growing your plants outdoors, your best bet for a hefty harvest is to grow the plants in a greenhouse. If you don't have a greenhouse, then you will need to carve out a good weather window to ensure the temperatures don't dip below what the plants require to grow healthy. Both indoor and outdoor grows require that you mimic the natural growing climate of the Big Bang strain. A Mediterranean-like climate is best suited for Big Bang buds. The ideal temperature for these plants is around 21–29 degrees Celsius. Humidity levels should be kept around 65–70% during the vegetative stage and maintained at 40–50% during the flowering stage of growth. Keeping the humidity levels below 60% will help keep mould and mildew off your plants. Utilising methods like Sea of Green (SOG) and Screen of Green (ScrOG) will help your plants grow to fruition. These methods will optimise plant growth by reinforcing the heaviest bud sites so that they don't break or bend the branches of the plant. The buds of the Big Bang plant are known for being heavier than your average buds, so they require a screen of mesh to keep them from breaking. These methods will increase yields by keeping the bigger buds on the plant. Big Bang plants require an 18–20 hour light cycle to reach the vegetative stage of growth. You will need to change the light cycle to a 12/12 cycle to induce the flowering stage of growth. This light cycle will ultimately get you to the harvest phase of this strain.
Yields, Flowering Time, and Harvest
- Flowering Time: Growing indoors, you can expect the Big Bang strain to harvest after a flowering period of 55–65 days.
- Yields: Indoor yields are around 800 grams per square metre, while outdoor grows typically produce up to 1000 grams per plant. These yields are absolutely massive. Big Bang cannabis plants are known for their big buds and hefty yields if grown and trained correctly.
- Harvest: Outdoor growers can plan on harvesting their yields around the middle of October, depending on when the seeds were planted.
Big Bang: Earthy, Sweet, and Woody
The Big Bang terpene profile is directly responsible for how the plant smells and tastes, and the strong effects it has on its users. The most dominant terpene in this strain is caryophyllene, while myrcene and pinene are the secondary terpenes.
- Caryophyllene: Most Dominant – One of the most common terpenes in the cannabis world, it is known for being spicy and peppery on the tongue.
- Myrcene: Secondary Terpene - A monoterpene that is known in the cannabis world as the "Mother of All Terpenes".
- Pinene: Pine Needles - Pinene is commonly found in pine needles, conifer trees, and cannabis plants.
