Growing Tips for Ape Shit Seeds

Experienced growers should have no trouble bringing this strain to harvest. Ape Shit is not for beginning cultivators, even though it performs well both indoors and outdoors it is meant for intermediate growers with experience harvesting their own cannabis. This strain prefers warmth, sunlight, and fresh air to grow to completion.

Outdoor growers with access to a greenhouse will have an easier time bringing this strain to harvest, as greenhouses provide a similar climate to that of an indoor grow and can be controlled.

If you don't have access to a greenhouse, then you will need to plan out a window of clear skies and warm weather, typically during the summertime, depending on where you are located in Canada, to bring this strain to fruition.

Ape Shit tends to grow short and bushy so you can grow multiple plants in a smaller area to increase your yields exponentially. Providing a consistent temperature range of 21–29 degrees Celsius and ensuring relative humidity levels stay around 40–60% is critical for optimal growth.

Outdoor cultivation requires a warm, humid climate with lots of sunlight to produce bud-rich plants covered in crystal resin trichomes. Low-stress training (LST) is the best method for this plant because it adjusts the canopy by gently bending the branches. This allows more light and air to circulate to the lower branches so that the buds grow big from top to bottom.
The smaller grow means that this strain requires less training to be successfully grown to completion. During the vegetative stage, you should provide 18–20 hours of light each day. You will need to change the light cycle from 18–20 hours to a 12/12 cycle to induce the flowering stage of growth. This change will get you through flowering and into harvest.

Yields, Flowering Time, and Harvest

  • Flowering Time: Growing indoors, you can expect the Ape Shit strain to harvest after a flowering period of 55–65 days.
  • Yields: Indoor yields are around 400 grams per square metre, while outdoor grows typically produce up to 400 grams per plant. Ape Shit plants grow short so you can grow multiple plants in a smaller area to double or even triple your yields. Even with a one-plant grow, intermediate growers will be happy with these yields.
  • Harvest: Outdoor grows should be ready to harvest around the end of October, depending on when you planted your seeds.

Ape Shit Terpenes: Sweet Berry Flavour

The Ape Shit terpene profile is directly responsible for how the plant smells and tastes, and the strong effects it has on its users. The most dominant terpene in this strain is linalool, while limonene and myrcene are the secondary terpenes.

  • Linalool: Most Dominant – Linalool is a terpene commonly found in cannabis. It adds to the sedative effects of certain cannabis plants.
  • Limonene: Secondary Terpene – Present in the rinds of citrus fruits, limonene can also be found in cannabis plants, where it helps with anxiety and improves lung function.
  • Myrcene: Mother of All Terpenes – Myrcene can be found in a number of cannabis strains and provides the herb with an earthy and woody flavour and aroma.
