Alchemy: Sweet Honey

Alchemy seeds grow into short and stocky plants full of resin-coated buds. The leaves are smaller than average and are bright green in colour. It's hard to determine the exact colour of this strain because of the dusty trichomes covering the entire plant. Under certain lights, the leaves appear purple and brown, while under direct sunlight, you can see pale green in the buds and stems. The harvested nuggets are green and orange in colour and remain sticky even after clipping and drying. Breaking the nuggets apart releases a skunky, sweet aroma. Alchemy is an exceptionally sticky strain of cannabis. While Alchemy has not won any major awards, the variants that Alchemy parented have won some serious hardware. With an award-winning lineage to brag about, there's very little mystery surrounding the popularity of this strain. Growers love its versatility, while users enjoy the effects it delivers. Alchemy has a wealth of quality reviews online, which only bolsters its already dynamic reputation.

Growing Tips for Our Seeds

Alchemy can be grown indoors and outdoors by experienced growers with a patient hand. Having an already experienced green thumb will help you bring this strain to harvest. It prefers a warm, sunny climate with plenty of water and nutrients to thrive. Outdoor grows are best completed in a greenhouse where the climate can be somewhat controlled. Indoor grows are preferred because exact temperature and humidity levels can be maintained without them dropping overnight. Grow lights are ideal for this strain because it grows shorter than most common cannabis varieties. Please note that in Canada, personal cultivation is permitted for adults, with a limit of up to four plants per household, though regulations may vary by province.

Dial in Your Growing Conditions

  • Indoor or Outdoor: Alchemy marijuana can be grown indoors and outdoors by experienced growers. The desired temperature for this strain is between 16–28 degrees Celsius. This strain requires 18–20 hours of light during the vegetative stage. Dialling the light cycle back to a 12/12 cycle will induce flowering and carry you all the way through to harvesting your plants.
  • Moisture Control: Humidity levels of approximately 65–70% during the vegetative phase, gradually decreasing to 50–65% or slightly lower during the flowering stage. Getting the humidity levels correct will ensure that your plants don't become mouldy.
  • Training Techniques: Techniques such as defoliation, topping, and Low-Stress Training (LST) can significantly bolster yield. Utilising these methods will not only increase your yields but will also increase the THC content in each bud.

Yields, Flowering Time, and Harvest

  • Flowering Time: Growing indoors, you can expect the Alchemy strain to be ready for harvest after a flowering period of 55–65 days. Outdoors, it should be harvest-ready sometime near the end of October.
  • Yields: Indoor yields are around 400 grams per square metre, while outdoor grows typically produce up to 400 grams per plant. Since these plants grow compact, you can plant multiple plants side by side and double or triple your yields come harvest time.

Dominant Terpenes in Alchemy: Creative Effects

The Alchemy terpene profile is directly responsible for how the plant smells and tastes and the strong effects it has on its users. The most dominant terpene in this strain is caryophyllene, while pinene and myrcene are secondary terpenes.

  • Caryophyllene: Most Dominant – Known for being spicy and peppery, caryophyllene is one of the most common terpenes found in cannabis.
  • Pinene: Secondary Terpene – Found in pine needles and cannabis. This terpene is responsible for this strain's earthy and woodsy flavour and aroma.
  • Myrcene: Mother of All Terpenes – Myrcene is one of the most prominent terpenes in the cannabis world.

Dominant Cannabinoids in Alchemy:

Cannabinoids play an important role in Alchemy seeds and are generally a significant part of most cannabis strains. That creative, focused, and happy feeling you get when enjoying the Alchemy strain is due to its dominant cannabinoids. Each cannabinoid produces a different effect on the user.

  • THC: The Main Character - THC is the most dominant cannabinoid on the molecular level of this strain. The crystalline compound tetrahydrocannabinol is the primary active ingredient in cannabis. Topping out at 15%, the THC in this evenly balanced strain is responsible for the creative and focused feeling you get when enjoying Alchemy cannabis.
  • CBD: Very Minimal Amounts - While the CBD levels in Alchemy are around 2%, the cannabinoid is still present and its effects are noticeable in this strain. CBD plays a smaller role in what the strain does to the user. CBD is non-psychoactive and can produce effects that help with anxiety, sleep, pain, and even stress. The CBD in the Alchemy strain, even in its lower amounts, definitely has a positive effect on the user.
