Agent Orange: Seriously Potent

Agent Orange seeds grow into medium to tall plants with long green leaves and massive buds. The buds are pale green because of the trichomes covering the surface area. The buds also feature orange and yellow pistils. The buds are cone-shaped and have a massive THC content, perfect for folks who love a hearty buzz. The harvested nuggets are leafy, brown, green, and bright orange. Breaking apart these nuggets is easy to do with your fingers. You won't need a grinder to crumble these nuggets. The nugs are perfect for packing bowls and rolling joints. The strain has become exceedingly popular, so much so that in 2012 and 2013, it won 3rd place in the Sativa category at the IC 420 Grower's Cup. A favourite of both recreational users and medical cannabis patients, Agent Orange's effects on the user are a big part of its ongoing legacy in the cannabis world.

Growing Tips for Our Seeds

The Agent Orange strain can be tricky to grow at first, but once you get the hang of what it takes to produce the desired plants and buds, you'll be adding this strain to your list of favourites every time you begin a new grow. You can grow Agent Orange both indoors and outdoors, however, most have had increased success with outdoor grows because of its thicker, bushier plants. Agent Orange plants thrive in Mediterranean-type climates. If you live in a warmer climate, then growing these plants in your garden or greenhouse will be super successful. If you live in a climate that is harder to maintain, you should lean toward an indoor setup where you can be in complete control of the temperature, light, and humidity levels.

Dial in Your Growing Conditions

  • Indoor or Outdoor: Agent Orange cannabis can be grown indoors and outdoors by novice growers. The desired temperature for this strain is between 22-26 degrees Celsius. This strain requires 18-20 hours of light during the vegetative stage. Switching to a 12/12 light cycle will induce the flowering stage and get you all the way to harvest.
  • Moisture Control: Humidity levels of approximately 60-65% during the vegetative phase, gradually decreasing to 40-50% or slightly lower during the flowering stage. This change in humidity will help keep mould and bud rot off of your plants.
  • Training Techniques: Agent Orange responds well to topping or low-stress training. The key with LST is to bend and secure the stems so gently that the light hits the entire plant evenly. You want to create a flat canopy, which will ultimately lead to a higher yield of more potent buds. Training your plants takes a steady hand and lots of work, but it is worth it in the end.

Yields, Flowering Time, and Harvest

  • Flowering Time: Growing indoors, you can expect the Agent Orange strain to harvest after a short flowering period of 55-65 days. Outdoor growers, the harvest usually falls around early October, depending on your local Canadian climate. Both indoor and outdoor harvest times are pretty standard.
  • Yields: Indoor yields are around 500 grams, while outdoor grows typically produce up to 500 grams per plant. Both indoor and outdoor yields are favourable. If you are having trouble hitting the desired yields, you may want to try the Screen of Green method to ensure more light reaches the bottom buds and produces an even grow cycle.

Dominant Terpenes in Agent Orange: Deliciously Citrus

The Agent Orange terpene profile is directly responsible for how the plant smells and tastes and the strong effects it has on its users. The most dominant terpene in this strain is myrcene, while caryophyllene and terpinolene are secondary terpenes.

  • Myrcene: Most Dominant – The mother of all terpenes, myrcene, provides an earthy and herbal flavour and aroma.
  • Caryophyllene: Secondary Terpene – Found in cinnamon, cloves, and cannabis, this terpene gives weed its spicy and peppery notes.
  • Terpinolene: Uplifting – The terpinolene terpene enhances uplifting, mood-altering effects while also having a lot to do with the strain's floral aroma.

Dominant Cannabinoids in Agent Orange:

Cannabinoids play an important role in Agent Orange seeds and are generally a huge part of most strains of cannabis. That relaxed, uplifted, and happy feeling you get when enjoying the Agent Orange strain is due to its dominant cannabinoids. Each cannabinoid does something different to the user.

  • THC: The Main Character - THC is the most dominant cannabinoid on the molecular level of this strain. The crystalline compound tetrahydrocannabinol is the main ingredient of cannabis. Topping out at 16%, the THC in this Sativa-dominant strain is responsible for the happy and relaxed feeling you get when enjoying Agent Orange cannabis.
  • CBD: Very Minimal Amounts - While the CBD levels in Agent Orange are less than 1%, the cannabinoid is still present, and the effects are noticeable in this strain. CBD plays a smaller role in what the strain does to the user. CBD is non-psychoactive and can produce effects that help with anxiety, sleep, pain, and even stress. The CBD in the Agent Orange strain, even in its lower amounts, definitely has a positive effect on the user.
