Afwreck: Minty Lavender
Afwreck seeds grow into medium to tall plants with lots of buds. The leaves of this plant are long and thin and green, while the buds appear to have been dipped in sugar because of the crystal resin trichomes covering the bud sites. There are white and green pistils that look like corkscrews coming out of the top of the buds. When grown in cooler climates, the plants are red and brown with longer leaves and purple buds. When grown in the correct climate, the buds are covered with trichomes, making that aroma stand out once you walk in the room. The harvested nuggets are dense and dark green with orange hairs throughout. While this strain is a potent choice for medicinal cannabis patients, it has yet to win any major awards in any category. With greater national and international recognition, Afwreck could easily contend for a Cannabis Cup award given its highly sought-after effects and flavour profile.
Growing Tips for Our Seeds
Afwreck grows best in sunny climates with lots of fresh air; think a warm British Columbia summer. Growers with little to no experience cultivating cannabis should steer clear of trying to grow Afwreck. The strain performs best with growers who have a green thumb and prior experience cultivating cannabis. You can grow this strain both indoors and outdoors as long as the temperature and humidity stay consistent. This will ensure you grow bigger buds in a shorter time.
Dial in Your Growing Conditions
- Indoor or Outdoor: Afwreck cannabis can be grown indoors and outdoors by experienced growers. The desired temperature for this strain is between 20-26 degrees Celsius. This strain requires 18-20 hours of light during the vegetative stage. Switching to a 12/12 light cycle will induce the flowering stage and get you all the way to harvest.
- Moisture Control: Humidity levels of approximately 40-70% during the vegetative phase, gradually decreasing to 40-50% or slightly lower during the flowering stage. This change in humidity will help keep mould and bud rot off of your plants.
- Training Techniques: Implementing strategies like topping, FIMing, and Low-Stress Training are recommended for this strain. Adjusting the top of the plant so that light and air circulation reach all levels of the plant is key to a successful grow. Because the canopy grows bushy, you will need to adjust it to increase your overall yields.
Yields, Flowering Time, and Harvest
- Flowering Time: Growing indoors, you can expect the Afwreck strain to harvest after a short flowering period of 55-65 days. Outdoor grows usually finish flowering by mid-to-late October.
- Yields: Indoor yields are around 500 grams per square metre, while outdoor grows typically produce up to 500 grams per plant. These yields are massive and full of high-quality, potent buds. Experienced growers will rejoice in the rewards for their hard work and effort.
Dominant Terpenes in Afwreck: Pleasantly Potent
The Afwreck terpene profile is directly responsible for how the plant smells and tastes and the strong effects it has on its users. The most dominant terpene in this strain is myrcene, while caryophyllene and terpineol are secondary terpenes.
- Myrcene: Most Dominant – The mother of all terpenes, myrcene provides an earthy and herbal flavour and aroma.
- Caryophyllene: Secondary Terpene – Found in cinnamon, cloves, and cannabis, this terpene gives cannabis its spicy and peppery notes.
- Terpineol: Sweet & Floral – Similar to the scent of lilacs, terpineol provides cannabis with a sweet and floral scent.
Dominant Cannabinoids in Afwreck:
Cannabinoids play an important role in Afwreck seeds and are generally a huge part of most strains of cannabis. That relaxed, energetic, and happy feeling you get when enjoying the Afwreck strain is due to its dominant cannabinoids. Each cannabinoid does something different to the user.
- THC: The Main Character - THC is the most dominant cannabinoid on the molecular level of this strain. The crystalline compound tetrahydrocannabinol is the main ingredient of cannabis. Topping out at 22%, the THC in this Sativa-dominant strain is responsible for the happy and relaxed feeling you get when enjoying Afwreck cannabis.
- CBD: Very Minimal Amounts - While the CBD levels in Afwreck are less than 1%, the cannabinoid is still present, and the effects are noticeable in this strain. CBD plays a smaller role in what the strain does to the user. CBD is non-psychoactive and can produce effects that help with anxiety, sleep, pain, and even stress. The CBD in the Afwreck strain, even in its lower amounts, definitely has a positive effect on the user.
