A-10: Kushy Buds
A-10 seeds grow into medium to tall plants with massive buds and long green leaves. Even though the leaves on this plant are large, the buds are even bigger. Covered in crystal resin trichomes, you would be hard-pressed to find a dustier bud in the cannabis community. The buds of this strain are completely covered in yellow pistils. This strain releases a skunky aroma that you can smell long before you ever lay eyes on the plant. The harvested nuggets are dense and dank and full of flavour. Breaking them apart will make your fingertips sticky with resin, but most cannabis users and growers appreciate that stickiness. The pistils that coated those buds while growing transfer to the harvested nuggets in the form of orange and amber hairs. If you are interested in the awards won by this strain, you are going to have to wait. As of yet, this strain has not won any major awards on the cannabis circuit. We do anticipate, though, that the strain has the potential to win multiple Cannabis Cup awards before long.
Growing Tips for Our Seeds
A-10 performs really well outdoors as it has the freedom and room to grow. Indoors, the strain requires a steady temperature and humidity to thrive. This strain is grown best by experienced cultivators, so first-timers should tread lightly. If you are trying to reproduce the strain's original environment, you will need ample sunlight, fresh air, soil with plenty of nutrients, and a constant temperature that doesn't get too low at night. If you can meet these requirements, then you should have a hefty yield of resin-covered buds come harvest time. Canadian regulations permit up to four plants per household for personal cultivation, though rules may vary by province, so be sure to check your local guidelines before getting started.
Dial in Your Growing Conditions
- Indoor or Outdoor: A-10 marijuana can be grown indoors and outdoors by experienced growers. The desired temperature for this strain is between 21–27 degrees Celsius. This strain requires 18–20 hours of light during the vegetative stage. Switching to a 12/12 light cycle will induce the flowering stage and bring these plants to harvest.
- Moisture Control: Humidity levels of approximately 40–60% during the vegetative phase, gradually decreasing to 40% or lower during the flowering stage. This change in humidity will help keep mould and bud rot off of your plants.
- Training Techniques: Low-stress training (LST) is the best option for this specific strain as it will help light and air circulate to the lowest branches of the plant. This method will increase yields and provide you with bigger, better buds come harvest time.
Yields, Flowering Time, and Harvest
- Flowering Time: Growing indoors, you can expect the A-10 strain to harvest after a short flowering period of 50–60 days. If you have cultivated your plants outdoors then you can expect a harvest in late September or early October.
- Yields: Indoor yields are around 400 grams per square metre, while outdoor grows typically produce up to 450 grams per plant. This Indica strain of cannabis harvests bountiful nuggets of high-THC-content bud. The short flowering period and manageable size of this strain make it easy to grow more than one plant at a time.
Dominant Terpenes in A-10: Woody Goodness
The A-10 terpene profile is directly responsible for how the plant smells and tastes and the strong effects it has on its users. The most dominant terpene in this strain is myrcene, while pinene and caryophyllene are secondary terpenes.
- Myrcene: Most Dominant – The "Mother of all Terpenes", myrcene has an earthy and woodsy aroma and flavour to it.
- Pinene: Secondary Terpene – Earthy and woody, this terpene is found mostly in pine needles and conifer trees as well as cannabis plants.
- Caryophyllene: Spicy and Peppery - Found in cinnamon and black pepper, this terpene adds a bit of spice to the cannabis plant.
Dominant Cannabinoids in A-10:
Cannabinoids play an important role in A-10 seeds and are generally a huge part of most strains of cannabis. That creative, relaxed, and euphoric feeling you get when enjoying the A-10 strain is due to its dominant cannabinoids. Each cannabinoid does something different to the user.
- THC: The Main Character - THC is the most dominant cannabinoid on the molecular level of this strain. The crystalline compound tetrahydrocannabinol is the main ingredient of cannabis. Topping out at 21%, the THC in this 100% Indica strain is responsible for the euphoric and relaxed feeling you get when enjoying A-10 cannabis.
- CBD: Very Minimal Amounts - While the CBD levels in A-10 are around 2%, the cannabinoid is still present, and the effects are noticeable in this strain. CBD plays a smaller role in what the strain does to the user. CBD is non-psychoactive and can produce effects that help with anxiety, sleep, pain, and even stress. The CBD in the A-10 strain, even in its lower amounts, definitely has a positive effect on the user.
