Pure Haze: Purely Purple

Pure Haze seeds grow into the most majestically purple plants you will ever lay eyes on. These plants are bright and beautiful and definitely stand out in any grow setup. The leaves are purple and green, while the buds are lavender in colour. Looking closely at the plant, you can see dusty resin covering the buds, adding to that vibrant colour scheme. When harvested, the colour stays on the nuggets as the amber hairs tend to stand out. While the Pure Haze strain hasn't taken home any major awards to date, it has been recognised in the cannabis community as a fan favourite for its effects, flavours, and the look of the plant. The Purple genetics, as well as the Haze lineage, have won their fair share of awards, making Pure Haze a winner by proxy. Pure Haze's resume is still pretty stellar and is at the top of most breeders' lists as a tried and true strain to grow.

Growing Tips for Our Seeds

The Pure Haze strain is a challenging grow, but if you can pull it off, the results are incredibly rewarding. Experienced growers shouldn't have any issue bringing this strain to harvest, while first-timers should tread lightly. A high-maintenance strain, Pure Haze requires hot, sunny, and semi-humid environments to really thrive. Tropical-style climates will result in the highest yields for this large grow. Make sure these plants have ample space, as they tend to grow tall and bushy. Growing indoors with a hydroponic setup will produce the highest yields and will give you complete control over the environment. Because this strain is resistant to common moulds, pests, and mildew, it is a solid outdoor grow. Regardless of where you choose to grow your Pure Haze plants, you will need to monitor and trim these plants accordingly to ensure you get the highest quality buds packed with delicious flavour.

Dial in Your Growing Conditions

  • Indoor or Outdoor: Pure Haze cannabis seeds can be grown indoors and outdoors by experienced cultivators. The ideal temperature for these plants is between 21–27 degrees Celsius. The light cycle for this strain is 18–20 hours of light per day during the vegetative stage. You will want to run a 12/12 light cycle through the flowering stage.
  • Moisture control: Humidity levels should stay around 40–50% throughout the entire grow. Make sure the soil doesn't get too moist, or these plants will take longer to produce the desired buds.
  • Training Techniques: High-stress training, Screen of Green, and topping are the best training techniques for this strain. These techniques will increase your yields come harvest time by trimming the top branches, ultimately allowing more light and air circulation to reach the lower levels of the plant.

Yields, Flowering Time, and Harvest

  • Flowering Time: With an indoor grow, you can expect the Pure Haze strain to harvest after a flowering period of 70–80 days. Planting your seeds in April will have you harvesting in late October if you choose to grow outdoors.
  • Yields: Indoor yields are around 500 grams per square metre, while outdoor grows typically produce up to 600 grams per plant. For the amount of effort you will put into growing these plants, the yield numbers make it completely worth it.

Dominant Terpenes in Pure Haze: Tasty Buds

The Pure Haze terpene profile is directly responsible for how the plant smells and tastes and the strong effects it has on its users. The most dominant terpene in this strain is caryophyllene, while myrcene, limonene, and pinene are secondary terpenes.

  • Caryophyllene: Most Dominant - Found in spices and cannabis, this terpene has a peppery and spicy taste and smell.
  • Myrcene: Secondary Terpene - Found in peach and mango fruits, this terpene is responsible for the skunky aroma and taste of this strain.
  • Limonene: Citrus Smell and Taste - Found in citrus rinds, limonene can help balance out myrcene's earthy and skunky notes.
  • Pinene: Found in Pine Needles - This terpene is known for its anti-inflammatory effects as well as being a bronchodilator.

Dominant Cannabinoids in Pure Haze:

Cannabinoids play an important role in Pure Haze seeds and are generally a huge part of most cannabis strains. That energetic, focused, and creative feeling you get when enjoying the Pure Haze strain is due to its dominant cannabinoids. Each cannabinoid does something different to the user.

  • THC: The Main Character - THC is the most dominant cannabinoid on the molecular level of this strain. The crystalline compound tetrahydrocannabinol is the main ingredient of cannabis. Topping out at 22%, the THC in this Sativa-dominant strain is responsible for the energetic and creative feeling you get when enjoying Pure Haze cannabis.
  • CBD: Very Minimal Amounts - While the CBD levels in Pure Haze are less than 1%, the cannabinoid is still present, and the effects are noticeable in this strain. CBD plays a smaller role in what the strain does to the user. CBD is non-psychoactive and can produce effects that help with anxiety, sleep, pain, and even stress. The CBD in the Pure Haze strain, even in its lower amounts, definitely has a positive effect on the user.
