Growing Tips for Grand Hindu

Grand Hindu is an ideal strain for first-timers to cut their teeth on. Grand Hindu marijuana plants will thrive indoors and outdoors, but have an easier time growing indoors because of the ability to completely control the climate. If you choose to grow indoors, you will have to replicate a steady environment similar to the climate of the Mediterranean. Grand Hindu cannabis seeds produce bushy plants with bright green buds and leaves and a dusting of crystal resin trichomes across the bud sites.

If you choose to grow outdoors, you will need consistent temperature and humidity to grow these plants to completion. Doing so will ensure that you grow healthy buds from the top of the plants to the buds closest to the soil. Having access to a greenhouse is the best way to give these plants the perfect outdoor climate without having to contend with unexpected outdoor variables. These plants grow short and can reach around 90–150 centimetres tall. Because the plants reach a maximum indoor and outdoor height of less than 150 centimetres, they are short and stocky, making them well suited to smaller grow areas.

The ideal temperature for these plants is around 21–27 degrees Celsius and slightly cooler at night. Humidity levels should be kept around 40–50% during the vegetative growth stage and the flowering stage, but gradually lowering the humidity each week will help this plant thrive. Growing indoors will ensure that moderate humidity levels and moderate temperatures are consistent and maintained throughout every stage of growth.

Sea of Green (SOG), Screen of Green (ScrOG), and Low-Stress Training (LST) methods are the best training techniques for this particular strain of cannabis. If performed correctly and at the right time, these techniques will promote bud production and increase final yields. LST helps manipulate the plants by tying down the branches to increase the size and density of the buds while allowing them to grow almost naturally. The “Green” methods will help to reinforce the heavier bud sites so the buds don’t bend or break the limbs of the plant. The Grand Hindu strain requires an 18–20 hour light cycle to reach the vegetative growth stage. Changing the light cycle to a 12/12 cycle will induce the flowering stage of growth.

Yields, Flowering Time, and Harvest

  • Flowering Time: Growing indoors, you can expect the Grand Hindu strain to harvest after a short flowering period of 55–65 days.
  • Yields: Indoor yields are around 450 grams per square metre, while outdoor grows typically produce up to 450 grams per plant. You can maximise your harvests and yields by growing multiple plants in a smaller area, keeping in mind that Canadian regulations permit up to four plants per household for personal cultivation.
  • Harvest: Outdoor growers in Canada can plan on harvesting their yields around the middle of October, depending on when the seeds were planted.

Grand Hindu: Legendary Lineage

The Grand Hindu cannabis strain terpene profile is directly responsible for how the plant smells and tastes, and the strong effects it has on its users. The most dominant terpene in this strain is humulene, while limonene and ocimene are the secondary terpenes.

  • Humulene: Most Dominant - Typically found in beer with a high hop content, humulene is what gives cannabis plants their earthy and musky scent.
  • Limonene: Secondary Terpene - Limonene is found mostly in the rinds of citrus fruits such as lemons and oranges.
  • Ocimene: Flavour and Aroma - Ocimene is a terpene mostly found in cannabis plants that contributes to the cultivar’s sweet, fruity, and citrus flavour and aroma.
