Growing Tips for Ecto Cooler

Ecto Cooler can be tricky to grow if you don’t know your way around a cannabis plant. Ecto Cooler marijuana plants will thrive indoors and outdoors, but have an easier time growing indoors because of the ability to completely control the climate. If you choose to grow indoors, you will have to replicate a steady environment similar to the climate of the Mediterranean. Ecto Cooler cannabis seeds produce bright green and orange buds with tiny leaves and crystal resin trichomes littering the surface area. The leaves are long and stand out next to the thinner limbs of this strain. If you choose to grow outdoors, you will need to hope for consistent temperature and humidity to grow these plants to completion. Doing so will ensure that you grow healthy buds from the top of the plants to the buds closest to the soil. Having access to a greenhouse is the best way to give these plants the perfect outdoor climate without having to put up with unexpected outdoor variables. These plants grow to a medium height and can reach around 60–240 centimetres tall. Because the plants reach a maximum indoor and outdoor height of 240 centimetres, they require vertical space but can also fit into some smaller grow setups, such as garden grows. The ideal temperature for these plants is around 21–27 degrees Celsius and slightly cooler at night. Humidity levels should be kept around 35–55% during the vegetative growth stage and the flowering stage, but lowering the humidity every week will help this plant grow. Growing indoors will ensure that the moderate humidity levels and moderate temperatures are consistent and maintained every day that the plants are in the growing stages. Topping and Low-stress training (LST) methods are the best training techniques for this particular strain of cannabis. If performed correctly and at the right time, these techniques will promote bud production and increase final yields. Topping will help to adjust the canopy so more air and light reach the lowest buds. LST manipulates the plant to increase the size and density of the buds. The Ecto Cooler strain requires an 18–20 hour light cycle to reach the vegetative growth stage. Changing the light cycle to a 12/12 cycle will induce the flowering stage of growth and get you to your harvest date.

Yields, Flowering Time, and Harvest

  • Flowering Time: Growing indoors, you can expect the Ecto Cooler strain to harvest after a short flowering period of 55–65 days.
  • Yields: Indoor yields are around 600 grams per square metre, while outdoor grows typically produce up to 700 grams per plant. These yields are massive and come at the end of a relatively short flowering period.
  • Harvest: Outdoor growers in Canada can plan on harvesting their yields around the middle of October, depending on when the seeds were planted.

Ecto Cooler: Lemony Diesel

The Ecto Cooler cannabis strain terpene profile is directly responsible for how the plant smells and tastes, and the strong effects it has on its users. The most dominant terpene in this strain is caryophyllene, while myrcene, humulene, pinene, and limonene are the secondary terpenes.

  • Caryophyllene: Most Dominant - Spicy and peppery, caryophyllene is mostly found in cloves, black pepper, and cannabis plants.
  • Myrcene: Secondary Terpene - Myrcene is responsible for some cannabis strains’ earthy and woody flavour and aroma.
  • Humulene: Earthy and Hoppy - Commonly found in beer with a high hop content, this terpene is responsible for the earthy flavour and aroma in cannabis plants.
  • Pinene: Pine Smell and Taste - Pinene is most commonly found in pine needles and conifer trees and adds to the smell and taste of cannabis plants.
  • Limonene: Citrus Taste and Smell - Limonene is found in the rinds of citrus fruits like lemons and oranges, as well as cannabis cultivars.
