Growing Tips for Chem Valley Kush

The Chem Valley Kush strain should only be grown by intermediate to master-level growers who have prior experience cultivating cannabis plants. Chem Valley Kush cannabis plants will thrive both indoors and outdoors, but have an easier time growing indoors because of the grower's ability to manage the climate. If you choose to grow indoors, you will have to replicate a steady environment similar to the climate of the Mediterranean. Chem Valley Kush seeds produce plants that are dark green and have long, hanging leaves that act as a canopy over the lower buds. If you are going to grow outdoors, you will need to maintain a consistent temperature and humidity to grow these plants to harvest. Doing so will ensure that you grow potent and pungent buds from the top of the plants to the bottom. Having access to a greenhouse is the best way to give these plants the perfect outdoor climate they require without having to contend with unexpected outdoor variables. These plants grow tall and lanky and can reach around 1.5–2.4 metres in height. Because the plants can reach a maximum height of 2.4 metres, you will need to trim the top buds and leaves so that they don't burn under indoor grow lights. The ideal temperature for these plants is around 21–29 degrees Celsius. Humidity levels should be kept around 40–70% during the vegetative growth stage and the flowering stage. Growing indoors will ensure that moderate humidity levels and higher temperatures are constant and maintained every day that the plants are in the growing stages. Topping and low-stress training (LST) are the most commonly used training techniques for this strain. These techniques will help to adjust the canopy so that light and air reach the lower levels of the plant. The Chem Valley Kush strain requires an 18–20 hour light cycle to reach the vegetative stage of growth. Changing the light cycle to a 12/12 cycle will help to induce the flowering stage of growth.

Yields, Flowering Time, and Harvest

  • Flowering Time: Growing indoors, you can expect the Chem Valley Kush strain to harvest after a flowering period of 60–70 days.
  • Yields: Indoor yields are around 550 grams per square metre, while outdoor grows typically produce up to 650 grams per plant. Even though this strain is tricky to grow, the yields at the end of your harvest make the effort well worth it.
  • Harvest: Outdoor growers can plan on harvesting their yields around the end of October, depending on when the seeds were planted.

Chem Valley Kush: Complex Kush Flavour

The Chem Valley Kush terpene profile is directly responsible for how the plant smells and tastes, and the strong effects it has on its users. The most dominant terpene in this strain is caryophyllene, while myrcene and pinene are the secondary terpenes.

  • Caryophyllene: Most Dominant - Most commonly found in black pepper and cinnamon. Known as the spicy and peppery terpene.
  • Myrcene: Secondary Terpene - Known as the "mother of all terpenes", myrcene gives cannabis plants the earthy and pungent aroma they are known for.
  • Pinene: Pine Needles- Found mostly in pine needles and conifer trees as well as cannabis, this terpene gives the strain its pine-like flavour and aroma.
